Leeds and Bradford-based law firm Gordons has bolstered its team with the addition of four new trainee solicitors and two apprentices.
Among the new trainees is Oliver Gillyon, who has already been contributing to the firm as a legal assistant. He is joined by Beth Inman, Dymphna Lewis, and Hafsah Malik, who are all beginning their legal careers with Gordons.
Each of the new trainees has embarked on a two-year training contract, during which they will complete various seats across the firm’s specialisms.
Throughout their training, the new recruits will receive guidance from experienced colleagues to help them hone legal and client relationship skills.
Additionally, Ella Walsh and Kailani Hutchinson have joined the firm as part of its award-winning apprenticeship programme. This pioneering scheme, launched in 2011, was the first of its kind in the UK legal sector, designed to promote greater social mobility by offering hands-on experience alongside academic study. Gordons will fully support both apprentices by covering their salaries and course fees, allowing them to focus on their development.
Commenting on the new appointments, Gordons managing partner, Victoria Davey, said, “We are always very pleased to welcome our new trainee and apprentice solicitors at this time of year. They have already achieved so much to secure their places with the firm as we always have hundreds of quality applicants.
Davey also emphasised the importance of developing well-rounded individuals capable of building lasting relationships with clients and colleagues. “We now look forward to helping develop all six new colleagues so that they are on the pathway to achieving their individual personal and professional ambitions with us,” she added.
Gordons, which employs 170 people across its Leeds and Bradford offices, counts major retailers such as Morrisons, Ocado Retail, and Wren Kitchens among its clients, as well as international names like Saint Gobain and Molson Coors.
