The Access to Justice Foundation Yorkshire 2026 Leeds Legal Walk, which unfortunately had to be postponed in June due to an amber heat warning and predicted 30C plus temperatures, is now taking place on Wednesday 16th September 2026. The purpose of the walk is to raise funds for the Access to Justice Foundation and is open to all members of the legal profession, their friends and families. The walk follows a 10k route through the city centre and starts at 5.30 pm outside the Leeds Combined Courts Centre, Oxford Row Leeds. The walk finishes at Leeds Law School, Broadcasting House, Woodhouse Lane, Leeds for the end of walk drinks reception very kindly sponsored by Leeds Law School and with live music provided by Scott and the Antarctics.
Last year, the Leeds Legal Walk was the largest legal walk outside London not only in terms of the number of walkers taking part but also in terms of the amount of money raised. The Access to Justice Foundation Yorkshire is keen to retain the title this year.
The Access to Justice Foundation Yorkshire is the regional committee of the Access to Justice Foundation which raises funds to support the agencies that provide free legal advice. Grants are awarded to those agencies who support some of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable people in our society, enabling them to understand their legal issues, access their rights and regain control of their lives. The last few years have seen a huge reduction in government and local authority funding for legal advice.
