Gordons reports 14% net profit growth for 2023-2024

Yorkshire law firm Gordons is celebrating a 14% increase in net profit.

Leeds-based law firm Gordons LLP has reported a 14% increase in net profit, reaching £12.1 million for the year ending 31 March 2024. This growth comes alongside a 6% rise in annual revenue to £22.3 million.

The firm’s strong performance has enabled a profit-sharing scheme, with all staff receiving a bonus equal to 5% of their annual salary.

With 170 employees across offices in Leeds and Bradford, Gordons attributes its growth to expanded services for existing clients and new client wins, notably securing Houseful, the parent company of Zoopla.

The firm’s corporate and commercial department saw a standout 20% increase in revenue, while its employment practice grew by 14%. High-profile clients include AO, Iceland Foods, Morrisons, Ocado Retail, Wren Kitchens, Molson Coors, and parcel delivery firm Evri.

The firm also made notable promotions, with litigation lawyer and head of wellness and inclusion, Catherine Woodward, and head of regulatory, Simon Tingle, joining the partnership.

In addition to its business achievements, Gordons has supported several charitable causes over the past year, including Bowel Cancer UK in memory of late partner Bryony Goldspink, as well as child-focused charities Elliot’s Footprint and Bradford Cinderella Club.

Gordons managing partner, Victoria Davey, commented, “Our continued success is based on building trusted and enduring client relationships underpinned by strong financial management.

“These results demonstrate the effectiveness of our distinct ability to think and act entrepreneurially on behalf of our clients. This approach sets Gordons apart.”
