Pryers Solicitors has made three appointments to its Court of Protection team.
Pryers Solicitors has announced the expansion of its Court of Protection (CoP) team with three key appointments: solicitors Sian Thompson and Shanice Blackwood-Martin, and paralegal Zoe Gospel.
Operating nationally from their York office, Pryers Solicitors’ Court of Protection team offers property, financial, and personal welfare legal advice for individuals lacking mental capacity.
With close to 30 years of legal experience, Sian Thompson joins Pryers with a wealth of knowledge in managing settlements from complex, high-value compensation cases. Her previous roles as a CoP deputy and professional trustee for personal injury trusts make her a strong addition to the team.
Shanice Blackwood-Martin brings six years of experience in mental capacity law and a client-focused approach to deputyship cases. Her work centres on helping families navigate the legal and financial complexities that follow long-term injuries.
Zoe Gospel, who joined Pryers in 2021, steps into the role of CoP paralegal. With a background in clinical negligence and personal injury claims, Zoe has gained valuable insight into the emotional and practical challenges that families face.
The appointments bolster a team led by solicitors Carmel Walsh and Robyn Hawxby, who collectively bring over 50 years of experience in managing high-value settlements for children and adults with brain injuries. As CoP-appointed deputies and trustees of personal injury trusts, they have established a reputation for combining technical excellence with a personal touch.
“Pryers has an excellent reputation for managing high-net-worth injury trust and deputyship cases, and I am happy to be part of this experienced team,” commented Sian Thompson. “The firm’s specialist environment will allow me to offer clients a service that’s second to none, supporting them in making positive changes after receiving compensation.”
Carmel Walsh, Pryers partner, said, “With Sian, Shanice and Zoe as part of the team, we’re now even better equipped to support clients in their most vulnerable moments, helping families build stable futures.”
