Legal Studio is marking its tenth anniversary with the acquisition of GC Business Lawyers, expanding its corporate law offering.
Since its founding in 2014 by Chairman Matt Dowell, Legal Studio has grown organically to a team of 34 consultant solicitors.
The Leeds-based firm, known for promoting a healthy work-life balance for its lawyers, continues to grow and reshape the legal landscape with its modern consultancy model. Its acquisition of GC Business Lawyers follows a successful earlier purchase of Crew Property Law, which had previously bolstered Legal Studio’s services across the region.
New additions to Legal Studio’s roster
The acquisition of GC Business Lawyers strengthens its corporate team with the addition of senior corporate solicitor Gary Caplan.
Gary brings extensive experience in corporate and commercial property law, enabling the firm to better serve clients handling complex transactions. Gary said, “Legal Studio’s infrastructure allows me to focus on delivering exceptional service while the firm takes care of regulatory compliance and administration.”
The addition of Gary complements the recent appointments of Richard Dean and Clare Young as directors. Richard, formerly with Ramsdens Solicitors, brings expertise in mergers, acquisitions, and private equity. Clare specialises in wills, trusts, probate, and inheritance tax planning.
Ian McCann, CEO of Legal Studio, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Gary to the Legal Studio family as we celebrate 10 years of redefining legal practice.
“This acquisition strengthens our corporate offering at a time when demand for high-quality corporate solicitors is growing.”
Ian added: “We believe that happy lawyers are more effective lawyers. Our success is rooted in that belief and driven by the exceptional people at Legal Studio. We’re excited for the future as we continue our growth while staying true to our founding principles.”
