The court of protection health and welfare team, clinical negligence department, and family law team will all welcome newly qualified solicitors from Switalskis’ qualifying solicitors programme.
Yorkshire-based law firm Switalskis is celebrating the qualification of five solicitors who have successfully completed its qualifying solicitors programme. The new solicitors will strengthen three of the firm’s departments.
Rebecca Wardle and Georgia McKelvey join the court of protection health and welfare team, assisting individuals who lack the mental capacity to make decisions. Ellie Goodison and Emily Chan bolster the clinical negligence department, securing justice for those affected by medical errors. Maariyah Sidat begins her career in the family law team, advising clients on matters such as divorce, separation, and financial affairs.
Switalskis’ qualifying solicitors programme offers aspiring lawyers two tailored training routes: the traditional two-year training contract, and a 32-month graduate solicitor apprenticeship. Both options combine practical legal experience with structured learning, enabling trainees to develop their skills while working within the firm. The programme is also designed to increase accessibility to the legal profession, encouraging applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds.
Amy Clowrey, director and training principal at Switalskis, said, “Watching our newly qualified solicitors grow in skill and confidence has been a privilege. They’ve worked incredibly hard to reach this point, and I know they’ll make a real impact, both for clients and our firm.
“Seeing them progress is exactly why we invest in this programme – to nurture talent, create opportunities, and to ensure long-term service quality for our clients.”
Applications for the firm’s solicitor training opportunities open on 3 March and close on 31 March 2025. For further information on Switalskis’ solicitor training opportunities, visit: www.switalskis.com/qualifying-solicitors-programme.
