Lupton Fawcett welcomes trio of new hires: Allen, Hirst, and Rudd

Yorkshire law firm Lupton Fawcett welcomes three new recruits as it prepares for 2025.

Lupton Fawcett has further expanded its team with the addition of three new colleagues, bolstering its private client, family, and debt recovery teams.

Edward Allen, Sally Hirst, and Thomas Rudd have all joined the firm, following the recent appointments of Jonathan Exall and Harjit Singh earlier this month.

Edward Allen, who joins as a partner in the private client team, will be based in the firm’s York office. With expertise in inheritance tax planning, wills, trusts, succession planning, and Court of Protection applications, Allen brings significant experience advising high-net-worth individuals, family business owners, and farming families. A member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, he was previously ranked as a ‘Next Generation Partner’ in Yorkshire and Humberside in the Legal 500 UK 2025 rankings.

Sally Hirst has joined the family team as a solicitor, bringing experience in child abuse compensation cases, family law matters including arrangements for children, and financial proceedings linked to divorce and separation. She also has expertise in wills and probate. Sally commented, “Family law is a rewarding area to work in, and I feel passionate about helping clients through some of the most stressful times of their lives. I am delighted to be joining the Lupton Fawcett team.”

Thomas Rudd joins as a debt recovery executive, with three years of experience in debt recovery and litigation. He is currently working towards his Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEX) qualification and has handled a variety of cases, ranging from parking charges and utility bills to commercial debts and contract breaches.

“We are thrilled to welcome Edward, Sally, and Thomas to Lupton Fawcett,” commented managing partner James Richardson, “Their expertise and dedication strengthen our offering as we move into what we anticipate will be a highly successful 2025. We are in an excellent position to deliver the best results for our clients across all our practice areas.”
