Sheffield-based law firm Wake Smith Solicitors has recruited two experienced conveyancing specialists for its residential conveyancing team.
Jo Chan joins as a fee earner while Thomas McLoughlin has taken a position as a conveyancing assistant in the existing 15-strong team led by recently appointed head of residential conveyancing operations, Bonita Wolfenden.
Chan (pictured, left), a law graduate who has seven years of experience working in conveyancing at regional law firms, is currently studying to become a chartered legal executive.
McLoughlin (pictured, right) started his career at Beaumont Legal in 2014 and has worked in similar conveyancing assistant roles in law firms across Yorkshire.
He is looking to progress his career with the Wake Smith team, which specialises in all aspects of freehold and leasehold residential conveyancing, including re-mortgages, transfer of equity and re-mortgage work.
Chan and McLoughlin will both be based in the Sheffield office and will work under the supervision of experienced director Amanda Cowley.
Cowley said: “The property market remains busy for us at Wake Smith, and Jo and Thomas join the team at an exciting time as the department focuses on improving processes. Our team is building its technology to generate efficiency for our clients, but the quality and service we offer will always remain the most important aspect of what we do.”
Wolfenden added: “The residential conveyancing team has seen significant growth over the past six months and the arrival of Thomas and Jo is very much welcomed.”
