Squire Patton Boggs Promotes Senior Leeds Lawyer to Partnership

Squire Patton Boggs is pleased to announce that senior planning lawyer David Myers has been promoted to partner.

David is head of the firm’s planning team in the UK, and he acts for a wide variety of clients within the public and private sectors. He is experienced in dealing with all aspects of town and country planning matters, from applications and appeals to enforcement and judicial review.

David also advises clients including major housebuilders and conservation charities on their biodiversity net gain strategy. He spearheads the firm’s advisory services for natural capital projects in the UK, in what is a new developing area of law and policy.

Commenting on David’s promotion, Matthew Dalzell, who leads the firm’s European Real Estate Practice Group, said: “I would like to congratulate David on his well-deserved promotion to partner. A talented lawyer with a wealth of experience, David has led the expansion of our planning offering in the UK.  He is instructed on high profile and major development projects across the country, acting for household names in the energy, utilities and retail sectors in addition to commercial, residential and leisure developers.

“We are delighted to recognise David’s achievements by promoting him into the partnership. We wish him continued success.”

David is one of several new partners that Squire Patton Boggs has welcomed in recent months, underscoring the firm’s commitment to growing its office in Leeds.  Last week, Pensions partner Gemma Hanley joined the firm, following the recent arrival of Deborah Polden to head the Litigation Practice in Leeds.
