A team from Schofield Sweeney is abseiling down one of the tallest buildings in Leeds in a bid to help St Gemma’s hospice raise more than £11,000.
David Cowgill, Lois Smith and Richard Barrett from Schofield Sweeney, and their client, Ben Brown, managing director of Woodcliffe Upholstery, will take part in the challenge on 24 March.
The CLV building in Arena Village, formerly known as the Opal Tower in Leeds city centre, is 300 feet high.
David Cowgill, associate at Schofield Sweeney, said: “Although not all of us are great with heights, it is an exciting event to kickstart our year supporting St Gemma’s. We are all looking forward to being superheroes for the day and working together to raise as much money as possible for such a fantastic cause.”
Ann-Marie Keighley, marketing manager at Schofield Sweeney, added: “The St Gemma’s Superhero abseil is the first activity in a packed calendar of fundraising events that we have lined up this year. 2018 is a big anniversary year for us both, 40 years for St Gemma’s and 20 years for Schofield Sweeney. So, we are really hoping to get everyone in the firm involved with breaking our previous fundraising records.”
