Schofield Sweeney advises on high-profile gaming industry deal

Schofield Sweeney, with offices in Bradford, Leeds, Huddersfield, and London, has played a key role in the acquisition of Crystal & Son Group by Dransfield Novelty Company Limited.

Dransfield is the largest British-owned UK supplier of gaming machines and entertainment products to pubs and clubs.

Schofield Sweeney’s team, led by Jack Venable, Michael Cantwell, and Simon Hellewell, provided comprehensive legal advice on both corporate and real estate aspects of the deal.

The acquisition aligns with Dransfield’s strategy of broadening its services for pubs and clubs, building on its 75-year history as a leading supplier of gaming machines and entertainment products.

Jack Venable of Schofield Sweeney commented, “We’re delighted for Chris and the team at Dransfield as this transaction represents another success story, underscoring their ongoing growth and industry leadership.”

Crystal & Son Group, based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, is recognised for its expertise in bingo and fundraising products. This acquisition follows Dransfield’s purchase of Gameco Holdings Limited, owners of Reflex Gaming, in 2019.

Chris Haley, managing director of Dransfield, added, “We look forward to integrating Crystal & Son Group into our operations and continuing our mission to deliver high-quality products and services to our customers.”

Alongside Schofield Sweeney, corporate finance advisers Malcolm Coomber and Katie Brockhurst from Clarkson Hyde, and Savage Silk’s legal team, led by Chris Morgan and Pamela Thompson, contributed to the successful completion of the deal.
