After decades of serving individuals, families and businesses across West Yorkshire, Haighs has taken the next step in its journey by joining Farnworth Rose. This brings two additional offices, over 40 additional team members and a central support team to allow the lawyers at Haighs Solicitors to fully focus on their clients and delivering outstanding legal services.
Farnworth Rose will incorporate Haighs Solicitors from 1st August 2026. As part of the merger, Farnworth Rose will provide central business operations in the form of marketing, sales and administrative support, as well as additional legal expertise. The major impact on Haighs Solicitors clients and partners will be more time and freedom for Haighs team to focus on them. Other than that, it will be business as usual as both Haighs offices will remain open and both firms aim for a seamless transition, aided by the similar mindset and approach by both teams.
“Throughout the discussions to make this incorporation happen, what’s been clear is Nick and the team’s desire to make sure their clients only benefit from the acquisition,” said Jon Batchelor, Strategic Director at Farnworth Rose. “That’s exactly what we were looking for too and what we bring to the table: the support and structure to make sure amazing lawyers at Haighs Solicitors can spend more time actually lawyer-ing. This makes Nick and the team perfect to help spearhead our growth into West Yorkshire: by offering next level customer service.”
Farnworth Rose, whose head office is on the border of Nelson and Burnley, was established in 2007 by Janet Lalor and Richard Farnworth who had worked together at previous firms in the area for almost 30 years. In 2025, the firm expanded into Manchester with the successful acquisition of Pinnington Law. Throughout this period of combined organic and acquisition-led growth, the firm has still gained more than 450 5-Star reviews and received several awards and accreditations from the Law Society and other recognised bodies.
“Something that stood out to me when I was approached was that we have so many shared values and a commitment to client care. This is shown by the fact that the majority of Farnworth Rose’s work comes from repeat business or via client referrals,” said Nick Haigh, Principal Solicitor at Haighs. He then added, “This proves they don’t just walk the walk; they provide a service that people trust enough to use time and time again or put their own name to by recommending the firm to their network.”
Internal integration plans are already well underway behind the scenes but it’s important to both firms that this incorporation brings added benefit to both firms’ clients. Nick Haigh says, “More support, experience, technology and resources are immediately available to us here at Haighs. We’re already seeing our new teammates supporting with client work where we either simply needed more of the same skills or in areas we previously couldn’t support with.”
More tangibly, Farnworth Rose incorporating Haighs Solicitors will be a more visible presence in the local area. They will be there to support partners and the community with all aspects of non-criminal law, be it buying and selling property, commercial and corporate law, family matters and more.
