A Yorkshire law firm is inviting people to call in for a cuppa later this month and raise funds for the cause.
Rollits LLP is gearing up to host a charitable coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, the chosen charity of the year for the firm. This event marks the latest in a series of initiatives highlighting the firm’s deep-rooted commitment to supporting the crucial work carried out by Macmillan.
Macmillan Cancer Support provide services for people living with cancer. The charity also raises money to provide cancer services, and research and campaign for better cancer care.
The charity played a pivotal role in providing support to Andrew Digwood, a former Partner at Rollits’ York office, who sadly passed away in November of last year.
Rollits has been a steadfast supporter of Macmillan for the past decade, actively participating in the charity’s annual Macmillan Race Day fundraiser. This year, the event achieved a remarkable milestone, generating an impressive total of £360,000.
Each year, Rollits assembles a team of approximately 30 partners and staff members who enthusiastically engage in selling raffle tickets, collecting donations, and even donning costumes. Notably, Chris Drinkall, a Partner in the firm, assumes the role of the event’s mascot, Hero the Horse.
Suzgo Kaluluma, a Partner at the York office, expressed their pride in the firm’s volunteers and their dedication to the cause. Kaluluma stated, “Our volunteers have always had a great time at the event, and many of them return year after year. This year, their efforts contributed to raising around £32,500 towards that astonishing final total.”
Apart from their involvement with Macmillan, Rollits’ York office has also extended support to other charitable causes within the city. This includes participation in the York Legal Walk to raise funds for the Access to Justice Foundation, as well as joining the York City Chase to support The Island children’s charity.
Attend Rollits’ Macmillan Coffee Morning
Rollits LLP now extends an open invitation to all to join them at the Macmillan Coffee Morning. At the event, attendees can enjoy a cuppa while contributing to the much-needed funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Katrina Lane, Chair of Macmillan Cancer Support York Fundraising Committee, expressed her gratitude, stating, “Macmillan York Fundraising Committee is hugely grateful for Rollits’ generous support over the years. We simply could not provide the vital services for those facing a cancer journey without such help and commitment.”
The Macmillan Coffee Morning is scheduled to take place from 10 am until midday on Friday, September 29th, at Rollits’ York office, located in Forsyth House, Alpha Court, Monks Cross. No booking is required, and all are welcome to attend this heartwarming event supporting a noble cause.
