Otley-based Newstead & Walker Solicitors has promoted associate solicitor David Dunphy to partner.
Dunphy joined the firm’s private client department in 2014 and has a wide range of experience in private client matters. He advises clients on wills, lasting power of attorney documents, estate planning and Court of Protection work.
He also works with the firm’s long-standing business and agricultural clients to provide succession planning and tax advice.
Dunphy is a fully qualified member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and, as the private client partner, he is committed to ensuring Newstead & Walker provides a high quality, professional and personal service to all of its clients.
Robert Meadows, managing partner at Newstead & Walker, said about the appointment: “David has been a valuable member of the private client team for the last six years and this appointment to partner is testament to his dedication, loyalty and hard work. The other partners and I are really looking forward to the energy and enthusiasm that David will bring to the senior management team.”
“The whole team see this as a fitting appointment as we look to the future and the New Year, as we enter our 200th Anniversary from when Henry Newstead first began practising as a solicitor in Otley.”
