Following on the heels of the highly successful 10k legal walks staged last month in Doncaster, Sheffield and York, the Yorkshire Legal Support Trust is staging the Leeds Legal Walk Week between Monday 12 July and Sunday 18 July.
Given that Covid-19 restrictions are still in place and that in 2019 more than 500 hundred walkers took part in the Leeds Legal Walk, the difficult decision was taken to stagger this year’s Leeds Legal Walk over a period of seven days to maintain a high degree of safety for participants.
Teams comprising not more than six walkers will be able to take part in the Leeds Legal Walk Week at a time of their choosing at any point during the seven-day period between 12 and 18 July.
There is no limit on the number of teams that can be entered by any one organisation and the Vice Chancellor’s Challenge Cup will again be awarded to the organisation that raises the highest amount of sponsorship from the Leeds Legal Walk Week. Teams can include not only work colleagues but also friends, family members and dogs!
Further information, including details of how to register teams for the events, can be found on the Yorkshire Legal Support Trust website. Free legal advice services can make a huge difference to people’s lives and by walking and raising money you can help the Yorkshire Legal Support Trust to make that difference.
The Yorkshire Legal Support Trust is the regional division of the Access To Justice Foundation, a charity that raises and distributes funds to support the legal advice centres that provide free legal advice to the poorest and most vulnerable members of society.
