Leeds charity Zarach receives £25,000 festive boost from Bevan Brittan

Bevan Brittan donates £25,000 to Leeds charity Zarach, helping deliver 1,000 beds before Christmas.

A Leeds-based charity dedicated to ending child bed poverty has received a £25,000 donation from commercial law firm Bevan Brittan. The timely funding will help Zarach reach its goal of delivering 1,000 beds to children in need before Christmas.

Zarach, which supports children’s education by ensuring they have their own beds at home, was selected as one of Bevan Brittan’s office charities in May. Since then, the firm’s employees have actively fundraised for the organisation. This additional festive donation highlights Bevan Brittan’s ongoing commitment to making a positive impact in the communities where it operates.

Julie Cowan-Clark, partner and community engagement lead at the firm’s Leeds office, said: “The support that Zarach is providing to families, and in particular young children, is very special and will provide much-needed comfort over the festive season. We are pleased to be able to support Zarach in the work that they do.

“Last year was the highest amount we have ever donated to our office charities and I am delighted that we are able to match that again. It is important that we make a positive contribution to the communities where we work and do all we can to help these organisations, especially at this time of the year when demand for their services will be higher.

“Fundraising for all charities and not-for-profit organisations in the current climate remains difficult, so we know how important it is that they continue to get as much support as they can.”

The donation is part of Bevan Brittan’s annual £100,000 festive contributions, split equally among four charities. In addition to Zarach, the firm is supporting Age UK Birmingham, 1625 Independent People, and Thames Reach.
