Hethertons Solicitors, a leading York-based law firm, has started 2026 by celebrating the successful qualification of Grace Beamer and Megan Hallam as solicitors.
Their success marks significant career milestones for the duo and underscores the firm’s long-standing commitment to developing legal talent across Yorkshire.
Grace Beamer has successfully completed her Legal Practice Course (LPC) and training contract, qualifying as a solicitor in Hethertons’ Civil Litigation Department. Grace joined the firm’s York office as a paralegal in 2023 and quickly progressed through several departments, gaining valuable experience across Commercial Property, Civil Litigation, Family and Corporate teams.
As a solicitor, Grace will now work closely with Director Anthony Corps, assisting clients with a wide range of property litigation matters.
Grace said: “I am so grateful to Hethertons for the opportunity to complete my training contract and qualify as a Solicitor. The support I’ve received has been fundamental to my learning and development and I look forward to continuing to work with the team in my new role.”
Megan Hallam has also qualified as a solicitor after successfully completing her Solicitor Qualifying Examinations (SQEs). She joins Hethertons’ Residential Conveyancing and Commercial Property Department at the firm’s Boroughbridge office. Megan joined Hethertons in 2021 as a paralegal and, after studying for her SQEs in 2023, completed her qualifying work experience across several departments, including Civil Litigation, Commercial Property, Family and Private Client.
In her new role, Megan will work closely with Director David Hallam, supporting a broad range of residential and commercial property clients.
Megan said: “Undertaking the SQEs has been a challenge, however, it was made much easier by the support, patience and kindness I’ve received from everyone at Hethertons. They have made a tough journey more bearable, and I would like to thank them all. I am looking forward to seeing what this new chapter at Hethertons holds!”
The qualifications of Grace and Megan follow the firm’s celebration of another internal success story last year, with Neal Macdonald also qualifying as a solicitor.
Neal joined Hethertons as a legal assistant in 2022 and progressed through the firm before qualifying, reflecting the strength of its structured development pathways. Now a key member of the Commercial Property team, Neal supports a wide range of commercial clients with their property needs and continues to play an important role in the firm’s growth.
Neal said: “I would like to extend my thanks to all those who have helped and supported me during the long road to qualification. I have thoroughly enjoyed my training and I am looking forward to the next chapter at Hethertons working in a growing team alongside Tom Henry.”
Hethertons Solicitors remains committed to nurturing aspiring solicitors, with a strong appreciation for career development at all levels and ages. It provides comprehensive training, mentoring and hands-on experience, ensuring individuals are supported at every stage of their careers.
Commenting on the recent qualifications, Managing Director David Hallam, said: “We are incredibly proud of Neal, Grace and Megan’s achievements.
“Their dedication and hard work are a true reflection of their commitment to the legal profession and we are excited to support them as they continue their careers with us.”
