Experienced Commercial Lawyer Joins Knights in Leeds

Knights, the UK’s leading regional legal and professional services business, has strengthened its Leeds office with the appointment of Milena Falciano-Padron as Partner in its Commercial team.

Moving to Knights from DLA Piper, Milena brings a wealth of experience in the commercial sector, advising a broad spectrum of clients, from in-house legal teams, directors, and senior managers.

Milena has experience with clients of all sizes, from one of the world’s largest glass and metal packaging manufacturers to a leading global Yorkshire-based consumer care and life sciences PLC.

As well as this, Milena has also worked with a number of global hospitality and leisure brands. From hotels to restaurants and fast food brands, including helping them expand their businesses into the UK market.

Having previously worked in-house, Milena also has a distinct understanding of the need to balance the legals with the commercials, offering pragmatic advice to key stakeholders.

Milena says: “I’m thrilled to have joined the team at Knights. It’s refreshing to work somewhere that approaches the legal sector differently – genuinely working as a team, no hierarchy, and making sure clients get the best service possible.

“I pride myself on being pragmatic with my clients, looking for real solutions to their issues, rather than simply doing what they feel is the best solution and potentially wasting their time and money.

“Moving to Knights allows me to channel this mindset even more. Without the red tape other firms have, I can really get to know my clients and build their trust, allowing me to concentrate on doing the best work possible for them.

Milena’s appointment will strengthen the commercial team’s offering in Leeds. Alongside Milena is Tori Lethaby, specialising in data protection and privacy law, and Charlie Markillie, specialising in competition law. Together, they are able to provide a full-service combination of expertise for their clients, supporting their growth whilst managing risk.

David Lister, Client Services Director in Leeds, says: “It’s been terrific having Milena join the team. Her vast experience, both in-house and client-side, and her approach to client relations is a great fit for the commercial offering we are building in our Leeds and Yorkshire offices.

“This appointment will complement our already well-established national commercial team, strengthening the breadth and depth of expertise available to clients.”

Knights is ranked within the top 50 UK law firms by revenue, providing multiple services to business clients alongside premium advisory services to private individuals.
