Amy Woodfine Joins Tyr’s Corporate Team

Tyr welcomes a new partner to its corporate team with rising star, Amy Woodfine. Developing on over 17 years of experience in corporate services, Amy will assist the ever-growing team with new client wins and existing clients.

Amy’s experience is built on a wide range of corporate transactions. These have been domestic transactions as well as cross-border, helping and advising companies, directors and shareholders. Amy has extensive experience of M&A, (including cross border and those with a transaction value in excess of £100m), investments / fund-raising (for start-ups seeking Pre-Seed and Seed funding, through to Series A, B, C and beyond), shareholder arrangements and reorganisations / solvent restructuring.

When asking Amy why she wanted to join Tyr, she said ‘I had seen Tyr’s name popping up more and more over the last couple of years, and in a market such as Leeds, which is competitive and saturated, making a mark is tough. But Tyr were managing that. I have always thought they were gaining a reputation which suggested momentum and ambition, which was really exciting. Most of all though, as soon as I met with some of the partners, I thought that it was the kind of place I could see myself working and I’m excited to be joining.’

Tyr’s Corporate Team continues to grow. Including the recent addition of Giles Clegg, the department has grown from 1 to 3 partners in less than a year as well as further continued growth of fee earning staff within the department. As the department continues to grow, and with Amy’s expertise, it expects to assist with a wider range of mergers and acquisitions with an additional focus on start-ups and tech companies.

The Corporate Team is enjoying a record year and expects to see a growth of turnover of around 40%. This trend will only continue with the addition of Amy.

Chris Blantern, Head of Corporate, said ‘Amy will be warmly welcomed to the team at Tyr. Her addition to the firm adds another great lawyer and further specialities within the department. Amy’s approach to M&A, and her in depth experience of tech and digital sectors will add another arm to Tyr’s corporate inventory.’

Alistair Kennedy, one of the Founding Partners at Tyr, commented ‘We are delighted that Amy has joined the team. She not only expands our offering to clients, but will also play a

key part in taking the corporate team forward. Attracting exceptional lawyers is key to the growth of Tyr. Amy is a great fit and we are very pleased to have her join the partnership.’
