Leading law firm, Taylor Emmet, has become one of the first firms in the north to be part of Law Beats Cancer , a first-of-its-kind initiative uniting the legal sector behind Cancer Research UK.
Through networking, challenges and fundraising events, Law Beats Cancer aims to unite the legal profession to support Cancer Research UK’s work. The money raised will help fund the charity’s world-class research, with the aim of accelerating progress and saving lives.
Over the past 50 years, Cancer Research UK’s work has helped double cancer survival in the UK. Today, that pioneering work continues – saving lives in the UK and around the world.
As well as raising over £20,000 for its charity partners each year, Taylor Emmet is also home to a dedicated Charities team, providing specialist legal advice to charities across the UK. With the sector facing increasing financial, regulatory and operational pressures, the team works closely with charities of all sizes to deliver practical, innovative and commercially minded solutions. By combining sector expertise with a collaborative approach, Taylor Emmet helps charities navigate change, manage risk and continue making a positive impact in the communities they serve.
Ben Brown, Head of TE Charity Assist, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be supporting Law Beats Cancer, and to be among the first firms in the north to do so.
“Cancer affects so many people, whether that’s our colleagues or our clients and their families, and the work Cancer Research UK does is life changing. As a firm, we are committed to supporting people through every stage of their lives, so this is a cause we are proud to support and be part of.”
Duncan Batchelor, Partner at Norton Rose Fulbright and Chair of the Law Beats Cancer Board said: “I am pleased to welcome Taylor Emmet as a supporter, where they can fly the flag for Law Beats Cancer in the north.
“Having a firm like Taylor Emmet behind this movement means a lot. Bringing together organisations across the region to help fund life-saving cancer research is incredibly important, and we look forward to welcoming the wider legal community to be part of it.”
