Addleshaw Goddard announces three new partners in Leeds

Addleshaw Goddard has promoted three lawyers to partner in its Leeds office at Sovereign Square.

Emma Sadler (restructuring), James Mort (commercial) and Dan Glowacz (real estate) will join the partnership on 1 May, as part of a 20-strong promotion round that will bring the firm’s total global partner headcount to 369. The number of partner promotions matches last year’s record tally.

Welcoming the new partners, Charles Penney, senior partner at Addleshaw Goddard, said: “We are extremely pleased again this year to have been able to promote a talented group of individuals drawn from all our practices, sectors and locations.

“Our footprint continues to grow with the opening of our four new European offices last year and another soon to open this year in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We continue to pursue recruitment very actively, but as important to us as part of our growth strategy is providing opportunities to our home-grown talent.

“We look forward to working with our new partners to grow our business and to continue their development as future leaders of our firm.”

Sadler (pictured, top left) has a stellar reputation in the local restructuring market. She advises on a variety of corporate restructuring and finance matters, working for clients such as the major clearing banks, asset-based lenders, insolvency practitioners and corporates.

She is closely aligned with the financial services sector and advises on loan portfolio sales/acquisitions.

Since joining the firm in 2008, Sadler has also gone on to play a central role in mentoring, supervising and supporting aspiring lawyers within Addleshaw Goddard.

Mort (pictured, right) qualified into the firm’s commercial team in 2013 and specialises in advising on technology and outsourcing projects for FTSE100, FTSE250 and equivalent clients.

He has particular experience advising on major transformation programmes, having advised on some of the firm’s most significant technology and operations transformation mandates.

He also has a strong capability in advising clients on all aspect of general commercial work, from supply chain contracting to exploitation of intellectual property rights. He works across a range of sectors with a focus on retail, financial services and healthcare.

Glowacz (pictured, bottom left) has experience in all aspects of institutional real estate work, ranging from routine sales and purchases to complex conditional portfolios sales/purchases/re-gears, funding arrangements and multi-jurisdictional matters.

He acts for top institutional funds managed by fund managers such as Columbia Threadneedle, Aviva Investors, CBRE Global Investors and Aberdeen Standard Investments, as well as smaller boutique property companies.

Addleshaw Goddard’s 20 new partners are based in the UK, France and Singapore, and represent each of the firm’s four divisions, advising clients across six core sector groups.

The firm has been actively growing its partnership and in the past year has promoted and laterally recruited 50 new partners in the UK, Europe, Middle East, and Asia.
