Yorkshire-based legal specialist Wrigleys Solicitors has announced five promotions, further reinforcing its commitment to developing home-grown talent and delivering specialist legal expertise across its core sectors.
Among the promotions is Hywel Jenkins, who has been promoted to partner in the firm’s health and care team. Hywel joined Wrigleys following a career in public sector law, where he gained extensive experience in mental health, childcare, and adult social care law.
At Wrigleys, Hywel advises clients on all aspects of health and social care and Court of Protection matters and has become a key figure in the team’s ongoing work in this complex and sensitive area of law.
Four other colleagues have also been promoted to managing associate: Thomas Mundy in the Court of Protection team; Kelly Edmundson, who specialises in probate, tax and estate planning; Robert Sowerby in property; and Hayley Marsden in the charities and social economy team.
Thomas Mundy has established a strong reputation in Court of Protection work, particularly focusing on day-to-day matters where Wrigleys Trustees Limited is appointed as Deputy. Known for his collaborative approach and technical insight, Thomas has also personally represented the firm’s trust corporation during contested proceedings.
Kelly Edmundson qualified in 2015. She advises on estate administration, wills, powers of attorney, and tax planning, combining technical expertise with a client-focused approach.
Robert Sowerby, who qualified in 2014, works on a wide range of property matters, specialising in charity, ecclesiastical, and school property. His clients include Church of England dioceses, single and multi-academy trusts, charities, and landed estates. He is recognised for his strong understanding of complex title and land registration issues as well as his Stamp Duty Land Tax expertise.
Hayley Marsden is part of the charities and social economy team. She was trained at Wrigleys and qualified into the team in 2017. She brings extensive expertise in advising charitable and not-for-profit organisations on governance, legal structures, trustee responsibilities, and regulatory matters. Hayley also plays a key role in organising Wrigleys’ Annual Charity Governance Seminar and is recognised for her strategic insight and commitment to client service.
Marie-Louise Hamilton, managing partner at Wrigleys, commented, “I’m pleased to announce these well-earned promotions. Our newly promoted colleagues each bring deep expertise and a strong commitment to client service, and their progression reflects the firm’s continued investment in developing talent from within. I look forward to seeing how they will shape the future of their teams and contribute to the firm’s strategic direction.”
