Wilkin Chapman welcomes ten new trainees

Wilkin Chapman, the largest law firm in Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire, has added ten trainee solicitors to its roster, reaffirming its commitment to nurturing local legal talent.

With over 420 staff across offices in Grimsby, Lincoln, Beverley, and Louth, the firm ranks 111th in the UK.

The new cohort of Wilkin Chapman trainees comprises Alexandra Vilbergsdottir, Chloe Beckett, Emma Johnson, Harriet Costello, Jessica Bowen, Lauren Brighton, and Molly Hodges (Grimsby); Henry Dixon (Lincoln); Alexandra Tock (Beverley); and Katherine Hardcastle (Wolds).

The two-year program offers hands-on experience across various legal areas through four six-month placements within the firm. Trainees can also work in more than one of the firm’s four offices to diversify their experience.

Lisa Boileau, head of the private client division, highlighted the firm’s commitment to developing legal professionals, saying, “At Wilkin Chapman, we believe that investing in the next generation of legal professionals is crucial for the future success of our firm. We have a long history of producing exceptionally well trained and very able lawyers.”

Harriet Costello, trainee solicitor at the Grimsby office, said: “During my time as a paralegal at the firm, it became clear to me that the friendly, professional environment at Wilkin Chapman was one that I would like to undertake my training in. The firm is full of incredibly talented professionals who are experts in their fields and who it is fantastic to be learning from.”

Trainees receive training alongside experienced lawyers and attend relevant courses, funded by the firm.

The cohort will work in various legal departments, including dispute resolution, corporate and commercial law, commercial property, insolvency, family law, wills, estates, tax, trusts, personal injury, employment, and regulatory matters.

Lauren Brighton, trainee solicitor at the Grimsby office, said: “Wilkin Chapman is dedicated to growing their own and is really keen for local people to progress their careers with the firm. I have worked here as a paralegal since graduating and have always been provided with so much support and encouragement.”

This expansion highlights Wilkin Chapman’s dedication to nurturing legal talent and providing top-notch legal services in the region.
