Ward Hadaway reports record financial performance amid ambitious growth plans

Ward Hadaway reports record £48m revenue.

Ward Hadaway, with offices in Leeds, Manchester, and Newcastle, has announced a record financial performance for the 2023-24 financial year. The firm reports that revenue increased by 7% to reach £48 million.

Managing partner Steven Petrie commented, “These financial results represent a really strong foundation on which to build as we strive to realise our ambitious long-term growth plans.”

The firm aims to remain independent while targeting a turnover increase of over 50% in the next five years and achieving £100 million by 2034.

The growth was attributed to strategic investments and the firm’s ability to attract and retain top talent. Key hires included Laura Hill, a partner specialising in AI-related litigation, a rapidly evolving area of legal practice. Across the firm, eight partners were appointed in the last year, alongside over 100 new hires.

An emphasis on nurturing emerging talent too

Ward Hadaway has also placed a strong emphasis on nurturing emerging talent. In the past year, the firm appointed 14 trainee solicitors and one solicitor apprentice across its offices, bringing its total headcount to over 500.

“We provide an environment where individuals can excel at every level, offering guidance, growth opportunities, and the tools to fulfil their potential,” Petrie added.

The firm also attributes its success to innovation in technical, including exploring the role of AI in legal service delivery, and a commitment to climate responsibility and staff wellbeing.
