Wake Smith Solicitors has raised almost £6,400 for Sheffield children’s charity Create a Dream Foundation.
The charity, which was set up in 2017, helps make the dreams of serious or terminally ill children in Sheffield and South Yorkshire come true by funding gifts and experiences.
The donation means Wake Smith has raised an impressive £36,653.79 for deserving South Yorkshire charities in the last six years.
Fundraising events in the last year for Create a Dream Foundation have included dress down days, a staff games night, running the Sheffield 10k, Great British Bake Off-style cake sales, sweepstakes, competitions, a tuck shop, lunch club raffles, and a quiz night.
Create a Dream Foundation founder and charity trustee Adam Ainger said: “This fantastic donation will really make a difference, and will help families make wonderful and long-lasting memories by making their child’s dreams come true.”
“We use our resources to make these children’s dreams a reality, whether it is visiting their favourite place, receiving their dream toy, meeting their hero, or having an experience that they could only dream of. No matter the size of the dream, we will do what we can to make it come true.”
Kate Lax, solicitor at Wake Smith and charitable board member, said: “Employees are invited to nominate a local charity with particular importance to them and this year it was Create A Dream Foundation.”

Previous deserving charities to benefit from Wake Smith’s fundraising include Weston Park Cancer Charity, Thornberry Animal Sanctuary, Rotherham General Hospital Special Babycare Unit, Macmillan Cancer and Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity.
The Wake Smith charitable board includes Kate Lax, Lorraine Slack, Bridie Mulgrew, Laura Sanderson, Hayley Naisbett and Jessica Rowbotham.
