Torque Law appoints associate solicitor

York-based Torque Law has added an associate solicitor to its team.

Rosie Cowling joins the niche employment law firm from Minster Law. Her arrival follows the appointment of paralegal Sarah Martin from Knights in March.

Torque Law’s growth to a six-person fee earner team comes in response to a successful 12 months that saw turnover grow by 20% and marked increase in demand from a range of clients.

It is planning for further recruitment this year to cement its reputation as a firm of choice for regional, national and international employers.

Commenting on the firm’s recent new hires, Emma Whiting, partner at Torque Law, said: “We are thrilled that Rosie and Sarah have decided to come and join Team Torque, and further their careers here.

“We are very confident that Rosie will play a pivotal role in the further development of our team of solicitors at this exciting time.”

Commenting on her appointment, Cowling said: “I am so excited and honoured to be joining the inspirational team of experts at Torque. I feel passionate about our shared purpose and look forward to working collaboratively to support our clients, and the strong team in further accelerating growth.”

Building on the firm’s valued partnerships with its clients, the Torque law team is continuing to host virtual seminars on topical employment issues and common challenges for employers, including forthcoming sessions on absence management and business immigration.

Torque Law is partnering with barristers from Parklane Plowden to stage a mock employment tribunal in October.
