Switalskis toasts ten years in Leeds

Directors and staff at Switalskis Solicitors’ Leeds office have celebrated their 10th anniversary with a staff party and fundraising raffle for Leeds’s very own Children’s Heart Surgery Fund.

Switalskis, which has 13 offices throughout Yorkshire and the largest high-street presence of any law firm in the county, first opened its doors in Leeds on 31 August 2007. Its first office in the city was occupied by just two people – director Lisa Phillips and the late Stephen Winehouse. The firm now occupies two floors in St James House on Park Place.

The firm’s origins lie in Wakefield, where the firm was founded by the late Stephen Switalski in 1993 with just two areas of specialism, child care and criminal law. The firm now has more than 100 expert lawyers who advise across a broad range of legal areas and has a national reputation for clinical negligence, child abuse law and catastrophic Injury.

“We are delighted to be celebrating 10 years of presence in Leeds City Centre,” said Phillips.

“We have grown considerably in that period and much of that is down to the hard work of our dedicated staff who are the cornerstone of our business.”

With the help of donations from many local retailers including Bettys (Harrogate), The Queens Hotel (Leeds) and Bar Soba (Leeds), the firm managed to raise £1000 for the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund, its chosen charity for the year.
