Rollits appoints new managing partner

Rollits has appointed partner Ralph Gilbert to managing partner.

Gilbert joined Rollits in 1988 after graduating from Hull University and has since worked as the firm’s finance partner. He said he was honoured to be taking on the role.

“I start my tenure from a very strong base, ready to build upon the excellent work in the past,” said Gilbert.

Richard Field, Gilbert’s predecessor, will take on the role of senior partner from Steve Trynka.

“I have worked closely with Ralph for the last eight years when he was finance partner and so I know he will do an excellent job,” said Field.

The firm has also promoted four solicitors since Gilbert’s appointment in early May.

Sue Brad, Ed Heppel and James Peel, are all promoted to associate level while Christina Sledmore has been made a senior solicitor.

The four colleagues have over 27 years’ service at the firm between them. Peel joined in 2008 having graduated from the University of Durham; Sledmore came to Rollits from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2009; and Ed Heppel began working for the firm in 2011. Brad, who works out of the firm’s York office, started there in 2005.

Gilbert said that the promotions showed how investment in young local talent pays dividends.

“All of them have worked extremely hard during their time with us and thoroughly deserve their promotions. We are keen to invest in talented lawyers and I wish all of them continuing success,” he said.
