Record £4,000 profit distribution for Ison Harrison employees

Ison Harrison is commemorating its second year as an employee-owned entity by rewarding its dedicated team with a significant profit distribution. All 270 qualifying employees will each receive £4,000.

The firm transitioned to complete employee ownership in January 2022. Since the transformation to employee ownership, the firm has seen its most prosperous trading periods to date.

In 2023, Ison Harrison achieved a record turnover exceeding £22 million, representing a remarkable 16% increase from the previous year’s £19 million. These impressive financial results made 2023 the most successful and profitable year in the firm’s 46-year history.

Ison Harrison hitting major milestones

Throughout the year, Ison Harrison reached several significant milestones: notably, the firm’s commercial division saw a substantial increase in turnover, while its legal aid team secured prestigious contracts, doubling departmental turnover. Additionally, despite market volatility, the property division experienced notable growth, surpassing £6 million in turnover.

The firm’s dedication to client care and operational excellence was further validated by its achievement of Lexcel accreditation—a prestigious industry mark of quality in client care, compliance, and practice management.

A period of growth and expansion across Yorkshire

In line with its expansion strategy, Ison Harrison opened its eighteenth office in Doncaster in 2023, with plans for further regional expansion in 2024, including the imminent opening of its nineteenth office in Queensbury, Bradford.

Jonathan Wearing, managing director of the firm, said, “Everyone contributed to delivering a record year for the firm last year which has put us in a great position to ensure that the coming year will be equally, if not more, successful and eventful.”

The move to employee ownership has not only empowered employees by providing them with a tangible stake in the firm’s success but has also positioned Ison Harrison for sustained growth and competitiveness in the legal industry. By embracing this flexible ownership model, the firm has attracted top talent while ensuring stability and continuity for its existing staff.
