Ramsdens merges with Holroyd & Co

Yorkshire law firm Ramsdens Solicitors has merged with Huddersfield-based Holroyd & Co.

The merger took effect from 1 February. The combined firm boasts 14 offices and 300 members of staff.

The move sees Ramsdens’ continuing the steady growth through expansion that the firm has achieved over the past 10 years and the merger will strengthen its position throughout Yorkshire.

Paul Joyce, managing  partner at Ramsdens, commented: “This is another significant step in the development of the firm and consolidates our existing Yorkshire presence, giving us a strong platform for continued growth and the combined firm will enable us to provide even more value to our clients.”

Richard Bennett of Holroyd & Co added: “This is an exciting development for us and means we will be able to offer Holroyd’s existing clients an extended range of services allowing us to better serve the needs of the wider Yorkshire business and private client communities. This merger is a great for our clients, staff and partners.”

Holroyd & Co have been located in Huddersfield since 1985 and is a private client and commercial practice specialising in conveyancing, wills and probate, family law, civil litigation, and commercial property.

This is the second merger Ramsdens has undertaken in the past 12 months.

The firm merged with Burn & Co in York in March last year, giving Ramsdens a presence in North Yorkshire.
