Ramsdens Solicitors care partner Vikki Horspool has been appointed as a deputy district judge in the North Eastern Circuit.
Horspool will sit in Humberside and South Yorkshire as a deputy district judge. She will remain a member of the Ramsdens care team.
Commenting on her appointment, Horspool: “I am honoured and thrilled to have been appointed as a deputy district judge. I am looking forward to embracing this exciting new challenge whilst using the skills I will learn alongside my work at Ramsdens. I believe that the dual role of solicitor and part-time judge will add to the level of service we as a firm we are able to provide.”
Joanne Coen, head of the care team, said: “We are delighted that Vikki has achieved an appointment. It is a significant step in her career for which we are proud to continue to support her.”
Horspool’s appointment as a deputy district judge follows a merger between Ramsdens and Huddersfield-based Holroyd & Co.
The merger took effect from 1 February. The combined firm now boasts 14 offices and 300 members of staff.
This was the second merger Ramsdens has undertaken in the past 12 months.
The firm merged with Burn & Co in York in March last year, giving it a presence in North Yorkshire.
