Progeny Corporate Law expands practice with leading corporate team

Progeny Corporate Law has hired three new lawyers to create a new corporate team.

Alistair Scott-Somers has been appointed as director of Progeny Corporate Law, and Laura Clark and Toby Adkins as solicitors. The three hires together bring over twenty years of specialist experience in advising on M&A transactions, in particular private equity backed deals and shareholder investments.

Scott-Somers is a highly experienced M&A lawyer, specialising across a range of industries, including the chemicals, leisure and food & drink sectors. He was an associate at Eversheds, before working as legal counsel at Premier Farnell. Most recently, he was a partner at a national law firm, leading the firm’s corporate team in their Leeds office.

Clark and Adkins are corporate solicitors, specialising in a wide range of corporate legal work. They have project managed a number of high value M&A transactions including private equity investments.

Scott-Somers said: “I am delighted to be joining Progeny and very much look forward to working with the forward-thinking and first-class team.

“I am excited about the prospect of working alongside Progeny Wealth, Progeny Private Law and Progeny Asset Management in providing a full wealth management and legal service for high net worth individuals and business owners.”

Neil Moles (pictured), managing director of the Leeds- based Progeny Group, said: “The corporate team’s appointment is a key move for Progeny. Their extensive experience and expertise in corporate law will greatly assist in further enhancing the firm’s practice.

“Progeny was born out of an ambition to create the first multi-service professional platform designed to match client goals with those of the professionals advising them. This further raises the group’s profile in the commercial legal sector.”
