New partner for Harrogate law practice

Employment law specialist Iain Jenkins appointed Partner at McCormicks

Leading Harrogate law firm McCormicks has announced the appointment of a new Partner.

Iain Jenkins, who heads the firm’s Employment Law team, has been made a Partner in recognition of his contribution to the practice since joining in 2019.

Iain recently attracted national attention for securing an apology and settlement from the BBC on behalf of former presenter Liz Green, who was targeted over a number of years by ex-BBC Radio Leeds host Alex Belfield. Belfield was jailed in 2022 for a campaign of stalking that included multiple victims, among them presenter Jeremy Vine.

A highly experienced lawyer, Iain advises clients on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment law, HR issues and data protection. He works across a wide range of sectors including sport, technology, manufacturing, financial services, recruitment, transport and logistics, and health and social care. He is both a CEDR-accredited mediator and an accredited workplace mediator.

Senior partner Peter McCormick said: “We are delighted to welcome Iain as a Partner. He has worked hard for his clients and the firm, and he deserves this recognition.”

Commenting on his appointment, Iain said: “It is a pleasure to be part of McCormicks, a practice with a strong reputation, great work and great colleagues.”

Iain is also a Trustee of Harrogate International Festivals and Harrogate Town AFC’s Community Foundation.
