JWP Solicitors builds for the future with two new trainees

Yorkshire firm JWP Solicitors has recruited Charlotte Slater-Jones and Sydnee Marsh.

They joined JWP Solicitors in July as the law firm continues to expand its team. It recently created three new director-level roles, building on a period of strong growth.

Slater-Jones joined as a trainee solicitor in the family department, working alongside director Gareth Long. Slater-Jones graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 2020, and completed an LPC at the University of Sheffield, where the trainee elected to gain a more detailed understanding of family and criminal law.

Most recently, Slater-Jones worked as a family law paralegal and regularly acted as an appropriate adult at Sheffield Youth Justice Service.

Marsh joined the care department JWP Solicitors, after completing a law degree and LPC at the University of Huddersfield. Marsh graduated with first-class honours and a distinction, and achieved the Dean of Excellence Award.

Whilst at university, Marsh was an active member of the pro bono Legal Advice Clinic and undertook a modern-day approach to educating the public on elements of practical law through the Streetlaw project.

Gareth Long, director at JWP Solicitors, said: “We have a proud history of finding and developing talented solicitors up through our business. Many of our team have grown with us over the years since joining at an early stage of their careers. We’re sure Charlotte and Sydnee will prove to be assets to our business, and help to ensure our success well into the future.”
