Ison Harrison tops Yorkshire Property Rankings with record transaction volumes

Leeds-based law firm Ison Harrison has been named the leading property law firm in Yorkshire and Humberside, following a record-breaking year for its property division.

The accolade follows a UK-wide analysis by TM Group, the largest provider of property searches to the conveyancing sector, which ranked Ison Harrison first in the region for total completed transactions between September 2023 and 2024. The firm completed 1,733 transactions in that period, with an average property price of £260,579, securing an 8.8% year-on-year increase in market share.

The firm also ranked third in Yorkshire and Humberside for new build property transactions, with an average value of £317,747, and 20th nationally for overall property completions, recording 2,583 transactions with an average completion value of £278,891.

The data caps a strong year for the firm’s property team, which saw a 33% increase in turnover and played a key role in Ison Harrison’s record revenue of more than £27 million in 2024 – a 23% increase on the previous year.

This growth comes just three years after the firm became the UK’s first law firm to be 100% employee-owned in 2022.

Commenting on the firm’s performance, Jenny Bland, director and head of property at Ison Harrison, said, “This is a reflection of the firm’s exceptional performance in the property sector, with our department consistently going from strength to strength.

“We are privileged to have a highly experienced team of talented experts, including Daniel Kenworthy and Natalie Clayton, who prioritise both client care and mutual support. This recognition serves as a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team.”

The firm’s property credentials have also been bolstered by industry recognition, winning Residential Property Firm of the Year at the 2024 Yorkshire Legal Awards.

Ison Harrison now boasts a 119-strong property division and more than 350 staff across 20 offices in Yorkshire. The firm continues to expand its reputation as a regional legal heavyweight, offering one of the broadest service portfolios in the region. It also holds over 10 Law Society accreditations, including Lexcel and the Conveyancing Quality Scheme.
