Hudgell Solicitors strengthens serious injury team with senior appointment

Hudgell Solicitors has expanded its serious injury team with the appointment of Mark Ellis, an experienced solicitor who joins the firm from Minster Law.

Mark Ellis, who has been practising since 2002, brings a wealth of expertise in managing high-value catastrophic injury cases, and his addition aligns with Hudgell Solicitors’ continued growth and dedication to client-centred service.

“I’ve worked with former colleagues now at Hudgells who speak highly of the culture and client-focused work. I’m eager to contribute to that, particularly as the firm expands its support for seriously injured individuals through advocacy and partnerships,” said Ellis.

Ellis’s decision to join Hudgell Solicitors was influenced by the firm’s shift to employee ownership in December last year. Hudgell Solicitors’ employee-owned model ensures that its team collectively holds a majority stake in the business, providing employees with a voice in decision-making and contributing to its strategic direction.

Ellis also noted that the firm’s approach to employee involvement, alongside its work with charitable organisations such as Day One Trauma Support, were significant factors in his choice. Hudgell Solicitors is on the legal advisory panel for Day One Trauma Support, offering guidance to patients at Greater Manchester Major Trauma Hospital.

Hudgell Solicitors, founded in 1997, has established itself as a specialist litigation practice with offices in Hull, Manchester, and London. The firm supports clients across personal injury, medical negligence, and civil liberties cases, among others. Notably, the firm has recently supported the victims of the Post Office Horizon scandal and of the Manchester Arena Attack in 2017.

Rachel Di Clemente, chief executive of Hudgell Solicitors, said, “I worked with Mark during my time at Minster Law and I have the upmost respect for him, so I know we are getting a highly-talented solicitor who makes client care, and getting the very best results for those clients, his number one priority.

“He brings experience of manging high-value catastrophic injury cases, including challenging motorcycle accident claims, and experience of managing teams of solicitors.

“As our work in representing people who suffer serious injuries continues to grow, I have no doubt that he will be a very important member of our team.”
