Gateley promotes John Kiff in Leeds

Gateley has promoted more than 30 lawyers across its national network, including John Kiff in Leeds to partner.

Kiff (pictured) is a specialist real estate lawyer with a range of experience, including residential development and funding and commercial development.

He also has blue-chip in-house experience and has taught law professionally.

The 38 promotions span Gateley’s corporate, banking and finance, employment, pensions, real estate, residential development, construction, restructuring, commerce, technology and media, commercial dispute resolution, and planning teams, as well as the firm’s property consultancy business, Gateley Hamer.

Seven lawyers have been promoted to partner, including Kiff. In addition, nine have been promoted to legal director.

A further 10 have been promoted to senior associate and 12 to associate.

Michael Ward, chief executive of Gateley Group, commented: “Incentivising our people and attracting new talent is a key part of our strategy and our success to date and I am delighted to announce so many promotions at the end of what has been another incredibly busy year. This is our largest round of promotions since we floated in 2015, every individual has contributed to the growth of the business and their promotions are very much deserved.”

The promotions mark the end of a busy financial year for Gateley, most recently with the acquisition of Guildford-based land and property law firm GCL solicitors.
