Freeths hires immigration team

Freeths has recruited a team of immigration law specialists from Simpson Millar.

Emma Brooksbank joins the Freeths Leeds office as a partner, where she will lead the team of immigration law specialists that she has worked with for several years.

Brooksbank has more than 10 years of experience, particularly in advising investor and entrepreneur clients and guiding businesses and public sector organisations through the system to achieve the recruitment of overseas staff.

Joining Brooksbank in Leeds is Ashley Stothard, an immigration executive, and Irum Saleem as a legal assistant.

Stothard is a qualified paralegal and advises on all areas of immigration law, with particular expertise in securing British citizenship in complex registration and naturalisation cases.

Saleem graduated with a Masters of Law and Practice in 2015 and supports the team on all immigration matters, including residence and permanent residence applications for European nationals and their family members.

The final new appointment at Freeths is Arshia Hashmi as a solicitor based in Manchester.

Brooksbank commented: “The team and I are well established in Leeds and Manchester and are looking forward to bringing our combined experience to Freeths and working with their existing clients as well as helping new businesses and individuals.”
