DAC Beachcroft strengthens Leeds construction team with partner hire

Thomas Hurst joins DAC Beachcroft from Addleshaw Goddard

International law firm DAC Beachcroft has bolstered its national construction practice with the appointment of Thomas Hurst as a partner in its Leeds office.

Hurst joins from Addleshaw Goddard, where he spent over eleven years handling complex, high-value disputes in construction and engineering projects. His experience spans a range of sectors, with a particular focus on health and public sector infrastructure, including schools and universities. He also specialises in PFI/PPP contracts and risk management, advising clients on live projects and issues arising from the new Building Safety Act.

Suzanne Wharton, partner and head of DAC Beachcroft’s professional and commercial risk practice, welcomed the appointment:

“Thomas has a wealth of experience of resolving complex, high value construction disputes, and an excellent track record for securing new work and building long-lasting client relationships.

“We’re delighted to welcome him to the team and to have the benefit of his considerable expertise and connections, as we continue to build our Construction offering to clients.”

Hurst commented, “It’s an exciting time to be joining DAC Beachcroft. I’m really looking forward to get going and support my new construction colleagues to achieve our expansion ambitions.”

DAC Beachcroft’s construction practice provides dispute resolution and advisory services to developers, owners, funders, contractors, and subcontractors across the UK. The firm’s Leeds office continues to strengthen its position as a key legal hub in the region.
