Richard Coulthard, head of corporate at Yorkshire law firm Ison Harrison, is hosting a free business seminar this month, together with guest speakers, offering advice on future business planning.
The Planning for Exiting a Business as a Business Owner seminar takes place on 22 May at the Horizon Conference Centre in Leeds.
Coulthard will offer expert legal advice on preparing a business for sale and the legal aspects of selling one. He will also offer practical advice for various eventualities. His expertise spans corporate and commercial law, litigation and dispute resolution, and associated employment-related issues.
Joining Coulthard for the free seminar will be Balina Dhesi, Bill Squires and Dominic Mackenzie.
Dhesi is a financial adviser and wealth management consultant who will be offering expert advice on reducing the amount of tax your business pays, as well as issues such as the implications of losing a business partner.
Squires is a leading business coach and will offer practical advice for growing your business and preparing to sell it. During the seminar, he will also offer advice on driving up the sale value and provide a free opportunity to assess your business in more detail with The Value Builder System, which will help you develop your ‘what next’ plan.
The fourth speaker at the event is Mackenzie, a wills and probate expert with more than 20 years of experience. He will offer advice on wills and lasting powers of attorney for business owners, advising why they are important what happens if you don’t have them. Both Mackenzie and Coulthard are partners at Ison Harrison.
The seminar promises to be an insightful opportunity to hear sound business, financial and legal advice from four experts in Yorkshire. There will also be networking both pre- and-post event.

There is easy car and public transport access to the event, with car parking available just a few minutes’ walk away at the Brewery Wharf Car Park. Horizon is a 10-minute walk from the train station.
