Leeds-based firm Clarion has bolstered its real estate practice with three strategic appointments to its property litigation team.
Kate Joss, Jessica Wager, and Emily Brownsword, all seasoned professionals from international law firms, have joined the firm.
Leading the trio is Kate Joss, assuming the role of senior associate. Her extensive background encompasses intricate handling of commercial and residential property disputes, catering to a diverse clientele ranging from public sector entities to developers and individuals. Joss said: “I am excited to be part of Clarion’s growth. I am looking forward to adding to the expertise of an already experienced and influential team with an outstanding reputation in the region.”
Alongside her, Jessica Wager steps in as an associate, bringing her adeptness in representing both private and public sector landlords and tenants. She said: “Clarion’s exceptional reputation for client service and its expertise has always stood out to me and I am pleased to be joining such a talented team, particularly given the continued growth and expansion of the firm.”
Wagner’s advisory portfolio spans lease renewals, dilapidations, terminations, covenants, and rent-related issues.
Emily Brownsword completes the ensemble as a paralegal, contributing to the management of contentious matters across various estate aspects.
This expansion aligns with the team’s upward trajectory this year, welcoming experienced legal director Lisa Stratford and paralegal Emily Hartley. Sophie Morley, partner and head of the property litigation team, emphasizes the team’s significant growth, driven by escalating demand and reinforced by the recent Experian report that recognized Clarion Solicitors as Yorkshire’s busiest legal advisers.
Morley said, “We’ve seen tremendous demand for our services and have established a reputation as one of the leading specialist teams in the region. We have experienced significant growth in the last year and are seeing that reflected in the quality of work a bigger team allows us to undertake.
“It’s fantastic to further boost the team with new talent as our workload increases alongside the continued growth of Clarion’s real estate practice. Kate and Jess bring a wealth of experience in all areas of property litigation, and Emily provides further resource as our workload continues to increase.”
Clarion’s comprehensive real estate practice spans development, investment, planning, asset management, corporate occupier work, retail, leisure, and secured lending.
