Chadwick Lawrence hosts Polish economic delegate visit

Chadwick Lawrence has hosted an economic delegation visit with representatives and business owners from Konin, Poland in a bid to promote cultural and commercial ties.

A number of people from different sectors across the district were invited to the firm’s offices on 22 November to meet representatives and business owners from Konin, a city in central Poland which is twinned with the City of Wakefield.

Among those in attendance from Konin were Sławomir Lorek, the vice mayor of Konin; Artur Świątek, a specialist in the promotion and foreign relations department; Artur Zimny, Vice Rector of the State University of Applied Sciences in Konin; and Jan Kościelski, chairman of well-known Polish company Franspol.

In attendance from the Wakefield district were members of the Chadwick Lawrence team Asma Iqbal, Cheryl Largue and Sam Pawson.

The businesses in attendance included Contedia Limited, Carmel Harrison PR and the Wakefield Beer Exchange, in addition to many others from various sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, hospitality and retail.

Those in attendance experienced a morning of business networking and showcased Wakefield District to their economic counterparts from Konin. The morning was completed by a presentation from Sam Pawson of the Chadwick Lawrence team about the firm and the professional services they provide in the Wakefield district.

Chadwick Lawrence was selected to host the event as a reflection of its involvement in the Wakefield district’s business community. The company is supportive of the district’s economic growth, and is both a key member of Wakefield First Board, and a founding member of the Wakefield Bondholders.

“This was a fantastic opportunity to not only get to know business owners from the local area, but also on an international scale,” said Asma Iqbal, partner at Chadwick Lawrence.

“Konin is twinned with Wakefield, and delegate visits are a great opportunity to foster friendships and build understanding between different cultures, as well as strengthening business links between the two cities.”
