With a clear focus on growth and opportunity, Yorkshire law firm, Blacks Solicitors, continues to invest in emerging legal talent and support diverse routes into the profession as it retains three of its newly qualified solicitors.
Rosie Rudolph, Lana Bamforth, and Sophie Spencer have successfully completed their training at the firm and taken up permanent roles within its specialist disciplines. Rosie joins the Real Estate team, after progressing through the Solicitor Apprenticeship route; Lana joins the Employment team following completion of her Graduate Apprenticeship; and Sophie joins the Corporate team having qualified via the traditional training contract.
Discussing her recent qualification, Rosie said: “I’m incredibly grateful for all the support the firm has given me throughout my apprenticeship from mentoring and training to the opportunities to work on such a wide variety of matters. Blacks has invested in my development from day one and I’m excited to join the Real Estate team and continue honing my skills.”
In addition, Blacks has awarded a training contract and two apprenticeships to existing employees, demonstrating the firm’s commitment to developing in-house talent.
Eve Pearson will embark on a two-year training contract, rotating through different areas of law every six months to gain valuable, hands-on experience across multiple legal disciplines. Dev Matharu and Chloe Kershaw will start new roles as Graduate Apprentice Solicitors as part of the 2.5 year apprenticeship scheme, which offers an alternative route for students wishing to qualify as a Solicitor.
Commenting on the firm’s training and development initiatives, Emma Garfitt, Partner and Learning & Development Manager, said: “Our approach to developing legal talent is deeply embedded in both our culture and long-term strategy. We have always taken a forward-thinking approach to training and development, recognising that investing in people is essential to the continued success of our firm and the wider legal profession.
“As one of the first firms to adopt the Solicitor Apprenticeship, we’re proud to have supported the programme for more than eight years. It reflects our commitment to making a career in law more accessible and to developing skilled legal talent for the future. I’d like to congratulate Rosie, Lana, and Sophie on qualifying, and wish all our trainees, NQs, and apprentices every success as they continue their careers with us at Blacks.”
