Ancora Law moves into restored Beverley building

East Yorkshire-based Ancora Law has relocated to Minster House in Beverley, marking a new chapter for the growing commercial and residential property law firm.

The move comes after a comprehensive refurbishment of the historic building by Wykeland Group, a leading commercial property developer.

Ancora Law provides legal services across Yorkshire and beyond, specialising in commercial and residential property law.

Minster House, originally built in 1816 as a warehouse for the Hodgson Tannery, has been transformed into a modern office space offering over 9,000 sq ft across three floors. The building is part of Wykeland’s Flemingate development, a vibrant hub combining retail, leisure, and commercial spaces.

Ancora Law, which started as a one-man firm nearly five years ago, has grown to a team of six and has taken a significant step by moving from a 700 sq ft office to a 3,000 sq ft suite in the newly renovated Minster House.

Founder and managing director Matt Hudson explained that the move reflects the firm’s continued success and ambition: “We have grown year on year since our inception at the beginning of 2020. We felt that now was the time to recognise our growth and invest in an office space that is fit for the future.”

Ancora Law’s new location offers easy access for clients and staff, with shops, cafés, and excellent transport links nearby, including Beverley Rail Station.

John Gouldthorp, asset manager at Wykeland, praised Ancora Law’s journey: “We have worked closely with Matt and his team over the years, ensuring their office spaces help to foster growth and attract and retain talented people.”

Hudson also expressed his gratitude for Wykeland’s support: “Wykeland has a track record of providing attractive spaces for businesses like ours. We’re delighted to have our new home at Minster House and to be based in Beverley, and we look forward to many successful years here.”
