Access To Justice Foundation Yorkshire urges lawyers to put on their walking shoes

The Access to Justice Foundation Yorkshire is staging the four 10K Yorkshire legal walks soon.

They are scheduled to take place as follows:

  • Sheffield Legal Walk, Thursday 16 June
  • York Legal Walk, Monday 20 June
  • Leeds Legal Walk, Monday 27 June
  • Doncaster Legal Walk, Monday 4 July

The purpose of the legal walks is to raise funds to support those agencies and charities that provide free legal advice to the poorest, most disadvantaged members of society who are struggling with homelessness, debt, family difficulties, mental health issues, discrimination and other problems.

The Access to Justice Foundation Yorkshire is urging members of the legal profession in Yorkshire to turn out in greater numbers than ever to support the four Yorkshire legal walks and help meet the ever-increasing need for free legal advice.

All funds raised in Yorkshire are spent in Yorkshire. In the last two years with support from central funding, more than £250,000 has been awarded by the Access to Justice Foundation to five local advice agencies in Yorkshire.

Further details of the legal walks and details of how to register to take part in the legal walks can be found on the Access to Justice Foundation Yorkshire website.
