Stowe Family Law strengthens in Harrogate

Senior solicitor Matthew Miles has joined the Harrogate office of Stowe Family Law.

Miles advises on all aspects of family law with a focus on divorce and financial settlements, often involving assets of more than £1 million and complex issues including pensions, businesses, properties, trusts and the tracing of assets.

He has worked with a number of high-profile families on wealth protection and nuptial agreement negotiations. He also has experience in resolving cases involving family farms and agricultural businesses in the Yorkshire region.

He said: “I have practised family law exclusively in the Yorkshire region for a decade and I am delighted to join the Stowe Family Law team in Harrogate. I offer an accessible, thoughtful and no-nonsense approach for my clients to support them through a very difficult time in their lives. As a Resolution member, I work to resolve issues in the least destructive way, avoiding court where possible, using mediation and collaborative law.”

David Milburn, managing partner of Stowe Family Law, said: “It’s a really exciting time for Stowe Family Law in Harrogate. Due to our increasing number of clients, we needed to recruit another solicitor and I am delighted to welcome Matthew to the team. He is an outstanding family lawyer, highly regarded within the legal community, and with extensive experience of high-profile and high-net-worth cases. His specialism in family farms and agricultural businesses in Yorkshire will be a valuable addition to the team.”

His appointment marks the continued growth of Stowe Family Law following a major investment by private equity firm Livingbridge last year. Now with 17 offices, new additions include Nottingham, Beverley, Esher, Reading, Manchester and Bristol, the firm employs more than 50 family law solicitors.
