Yorkshire law firm expands Dispute Resolution team with new senior hire
Yorkshire law firm Ramsdens has appointed experienced commercial litigation lawyer Simon Lucas as a partner across its offices in York and Leeds.
He joins from commercial law firm Schofield Sweeney where he specialised in handling high value commercial litigation instructions concerning shareholder and partnership disputes, professional negligence, contractual claims and other business protection matters.
With almost two decades of experience, Simon has advised clients across a range of sectors including the financial, manufacturing, healthcare and waste management industries.
The appointment comes as part of wider growth for the firm, as it continues to expand its corporate and commercial offering. The Dispute Resolution team has recently enlisted two newly qualified solicitors, Alex Tattersall and Courtney Moore, as part of the firm’s commitment to developing the next generation of legal talent.
Commenting on his appointment, Simon said: “Ramsdens has established an excellent reputation for providing practical, personal advice to businesses of all sizes. I’m excited to continue working in that tradition as part of its growing Dispute Resolution team, putting my extensive experience to use working with our clients in the Yorkshire region, across a diverse range of sectors.”
Nick Armitage, Head of the Dispute Resolution team at Ramsdens said: “It’s brilliant to welcome Simon to our team. He’s been providing businesses with specialist expertise for decades – exactly what we strive to do at Ramsdens. He joins at an exciting time for our corporate and commercial teams and is an ideal asset to support clients from our York and Leeds offices.”
