Shulmans helps Roger Bullivant group buy new headquarters

Shulmans has completed the purchase of a new 22-acre site in Swadlincote, South Derbyshire, for the Roger Bullivant group.

The site will become the new UK Headquarters for the foundation engineering company and will see it relocate its existing head office in Drakelow near Burton on Trent.

Roger Bullivant plans to increase the square footage of the existing office space and create new manufacturing facilities to boost production of its precast concrete and house foundation systems.

Simon Jackson (pictured), a commercial property expert with Shulmans, played an integral part in the process, dealing with a variety of complex legal issues in the process of the sale of the site.

Jackson who worked with Amanda Beresford, Shulmans’ head of planning on the deal, said: “The acquisition is significant not only in retaining the site within a commutable distance for the existing workforce, but also in the ability for RB to expand its current operation within South Derbyshire.”

Strongly supported by South Derbyshire County Council, the acquisition secures 400 jobs in the area, further increasing an already strong confidence in Swadlincote as a location well-equipped for large companies with a highly skilled local workforce.

Gary Farnell, Roger Bullivant’s managing director praised Shulmans for its “highly professional” work, which it said had helped the company retain its highly skilled workforce, as it could stay in South Derbyshire.
