Record turnover growth for Sheffield solicitors

Sheffield’s Wake Smith Solicitors has achieved double digit growth in fee income for the first time to take its annual turnover to £6.35m.

The established city centre based firm, which employs 40 fee earners and provides legal services for businesses and individuals, has reported a fee income of £6.35m which represents a 17% increase from last year.

In the last year, Wake Smith has invested heavily in technology, processes and business development making key hires in its employment and family teams and well as building its busy private client, corporate, residential conveyancing and commercial property teams.

Key successes included attracting a host of new clients, involvement in some of the most high profile commercial transactions in South Yorkshire plus award wins in Yorkshire Dealmakers of the Year and Yorkshire Business Woman of the Year with a tranche of upcoming shortlistings in various business and sector awards yet to be announced.

In January, the firm, which moved to its Tenter Street base 10 years ago, was also awarded the internationally recognised Gold Investors in People accreditation, which sets the standard for people management, for the first time in its history.
