Prominent West Yorkshire law firm Wilkinson Woodward Solicitors has appointed Laura Kurowski as the practice’s new Managing Director.
Laura’s appointment reflects her longstanding commitment to the firm, having spent her entire legal career at Wilkinson Woodward. After graduating from the University of Warwick, Laura went on to complete her Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School in Leeds. She joined Wilkinson Woodward as a trainee solicitor in 2006, qualified in 2008 and became a director in 2014. Over the past 20 years, she has developed extensive expertise in residential and commercial property, alongside significant experience in corporate and commercial law.
In addition to her legal work, Laura is actively involved in community initiatives across Kirklees and Calderdale. She supports the Huddersfield University Law Clinic and participates in many of the firm’s charity events. She is also involved with local organisations including Platform 1, a mental health and crisis support charity for men, also The Eleanor Hirst Trust. Additionally, she is a member of the Conveyancing Quality Scheme.

Laura succeeds Maureen Cawthorn, who is stepping down. Maureen became Managing Partner in 2007, having joined Wilkinson Woodward in 1992, and has played a pivotal role in guiding the firm’s growth and development in her time at the helm.
Maureen said: “It has been an honour to lead Wilkinson Woodward for the past 19 years and to be part of the firm for more than three decades. I am incredibly proud of everything we have achieved.”
